CLASSES

REGISTRATION
Register for classes by coming into the shop or calling 303-322-2223. Take a minute to read and understand the Class Policy Section below.

CLASS POLICY
As space is limited, full payment is required at registration to hold your spot. All materials must be purchased prior to the beginning of class, unless otherwise noted. All materials needed must be purchased from LambShoppe with the exception of hardware you already own such as needles, hooks etc. Please note skill level required and if there is any homework for your class. As a courtesy to the other students we ask that you arrive for class on time. There will be no admittance beyond 10 minutes past the start time. We know that occasionally unforeseen events will prevent you from being able to attend all of the scheduled classes. In that event any make-up time must be arranged with your instructor and there may be an additional fee required.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Class and workshop fees are transferable up to one week before the start of class. We cannot refund or transfer after that. Instructors reserve the right to cancel with less than their minimum student sign-ups. In the event of cancelation the student has the option of transferring to a differents class or receiving a refund.

When signing up for a class, please note the skill level required and if there is homework noted.

PRIVATE HELP APPOINTMENTS
Unable to attend a class or need more individualized help? Schedule a private appointment with one of our skilled staff by calling 303-322-2223. $30.00 to $50.00 per hour for private lessons.
KNITTING SKILL LEVELS
Novice:
Knows how to spell knit, purl and crochet.

Beginner:
Knit- Knows how to cast on and bind off, knit and purl, increase and decrease.
Crochet - Knows how to chain, single, double and triple crochet.

Intermediate:
Knows a variety of stitches, how to use double points, knit in the round, and knows mid-level shaping.

Advanced:
Knows lace stitches and intricate stitch patterns, fair isle, and how to short row.

LEARNER'S PERMIT TO CROCHET

Learn to chain, single, double, half-double, triple, increase and decrease. We'll be making an adult or child's crocheted blanket from the Noro Flowers Book 4 using the techniques learned.



2014 TWELVE STEP PROGRAM

It's back! Our Twelve Step program that encourages our knitting and crocheting addiction. Sorry AA. Twelve Projects for the new year, one a month.

FREE KNIT ALONG - EAST NEUK HOODIE
Skill Level: Intermediate.

Join Whitney for a knit along!!! We will be working on the "East Neuk Hoodie" by Kristen Orme in the fall 2014 Knitscene. Check it out on ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/east-neuk-hoodie . The first knit along will meet on Tuesday July 8th from 2-4pm and will take place the 1st and 3rd Tusdays (2-4) and Saturdays (noon-2) of every month. The knit-along is free to participate with purchase of yarn and the Fall 2014 Knitscene Magazine ($7.99). Please RSVP by calling or stopping by Lamb Shoppe and signing up.

LEARNER'S PERMIT TO KNIT
Skill Level: Novice
Next Start Date: October 8, 2014.

In four weeks, Beginners turn into real knitters! Learn how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off and decrease when making your first hat in the round in week three. In week four you will complete your hat using double point needles.

KNIT STITCH CRASH COURSE
Skill Level: Novice
Next Start Date: October 8, 2014.

Learn to cast on your yarn and begin knitting a Cowl or a Scarf. You will now understand why knitters ALWAYS carry their knitting with them (the car, parties, Bronco games, movies, you get the idea). This intro class will give you a taste for knitting so that you are ready for the Crash Course Survivor's Class. Happy knitting!

RAEANNE SHAWL SWEATER
Skill Level: Advanced Intermediate Crochet.
Next Start Date: October 14, 2014.

Learn to read the "granny square" map for this beautiful sweater. We'll go round by round, joining and using the row by row stitch pattern while learning how to join the motifs, how to join the sleeves from the shoulder down while maintaining the motif pattern, how to read the legends while using the Granny Square Motif, the Triangle Motif, the Half Motif and the Wedge Motif. Altogether it is a challenging and rewarding experience in beautiful crochet and can be worn both fitted and casual. Yummy!

TOE-UP SOCKS, TWO AT A TIME.
Skill Level:
Advanced

Ever wanted to knit socks, but didn't know how to start or were intimidated by the heels and toes? Or didn't know how long you could make the socks with the yarn you had?

This class will answer all your questions about knitting socks from the toes up, AND teach you how to knit both socks at the same time (Optional). (This avoids the DREADED Second Sock Syndrome!!)

This class will entail 3-90 minute sessions where you will master Judy's Magic Cast On for toes, the short row heel, and the increase toe. We will also learn a stretchy bind off.

These techniques will be taught using the Magic Loop (1 circular needle) or on two circular needles. These techniques can be adapted to any foot.

BARTON PARK SHAWL
Skill Level: Intermediate
Next Start Date: November 2, 2014

This lovely lace shawl was inspired by the Jane Austen novel, Sense and Sensibility. Come into the shop and see the model created from an Austrailian unbrushed mohair yarn. (Or perhaps more importantly feel it.) This is an intermediate pattern with resting rows between pattern rows and a beaded edge. The pattern is available for purchase on-line at PatternFish or at LambShoppe.

MADISON PONCHO
Intermediate
Next Start Date: November 6, 2014.


This poncho is knit from side to side with cables on both sides of the neck opening. It has seed stitch side borders and the cuffs are picked up and knit in ribbing at the end.

ELEPHANT
Skill Level: Intermediate.
Next Start Date: October 2, 2014.

The size of this elephant depends on what yarn or combination of yarns you choose. The pattern will be provided for this class.

LEFTIE SCARF
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Another variation of the "Hitchhiker Scarf" by Martina Behm. The Leftie shawlette in garter stitch shawlette. The pattern for this project is available for purchase on Ravelry.com.

SELKIE WRAP KNIT ALONG
Skill Level: Intermediate. Next Start Date: October 12, 2014.


Curl up in this adorable and versatile wrap with bulky cabling and cute fastening buttons. With Mary Carol at the helm of this Knitalong, it's a great starter project for someone looking to knit apparel. There is currently a sample at LambShoppe if you'd like to try it on and see the style up close. Mary Carol used Rowan Alpaca Chunky for her Selkie, but Rowan Big Wool, Cascade Magnum and Lamb's Pride Burly Spun are also great choices.
