CLASSES

REGISTRATION
Register for classes by coming into the shop or calling 303-322-2223. Take a minute to read and understand the Class and Cancellation Policies below.

CLASS POLICY
As space is limited, full payment is required at registration to hold your spot. All materials must be purchased prior to the beginning of class, unless otherwise noted. All materials needed must be purchased from LambShoppe with the exception of hardware you already own such as needles, hooks etc. Please note skill level required and if there is any homework for your class. As a courtesy to the other students we ask that you arrive for class on time. There will be no admittance beyond 10 minutes past the start time.We know that occasionally unforeseen events will prevent you from being able to attend all of the scheduled classes. In that event any make-up time must be arranged with your instructor and there may be an additional fee required.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Class and workshop fees are transferable up to one week before the start of class. We cannot refund or transfer after that. Instructors reserve the right to cancel with less than their minimum student sign-ups. In the event of cancelation the student has the option of transferring to a differents class or receiving a refund.

PRIVATE HELP APPOINTMENTS
Unable to attend a class or need more individualized help? Schedule a private appointment with one of our skilled staff by calling 303-322-2223. $30.00 to $50.00 per hour for private lessons.
KNITTING SKILL LEVELS
Novice:
Knows how to spell knit, purl and crochet.

Beginner:
Knit- Knows how to cast on and bind off, knit and purl, increase and decrease.
Crochet - Knows how to chain, single, double and triple crochet.

Intermediate:
Knows a variety of stitches, how to use double points, knit in the round, and knows mid-level shaping.

Advanced:
Knows lace stitches and intricate stitch patterns, fair isle, and how to short row.

Welcome to Knitting Theory 101! The Ooops course is an important step for any serious knitter who desires confidence in their work. As the instructor will tell you, "fixing mistakes separates the men from the boys." Gain a holistic understanding of your knitting while learning what's really going on between those needles and how to read your work. Finally, the course focuses on common knitting mistakes and shows you three ways to remedy them: tinking, ripping out and , of course, picking up dropped stitches. The more you know about your knitting, the closer you are to mastering this craft!


ON THE SPICE MARKET SHAWL

Skill Level: Adv. Beginner to Intermediate.

On the Spice Market is an asymmetrical triangle shawl featuring a spicy mixture of textures, slipped stitches, and short rows, which is easier to knit than it looks! In the first section, you will learn German short rows - a simple technique which you will enjoy adapting to other projects requiring short rows. The next section features a special stitch that creates an interesting texture and pops of color. There is also a simple slipped stitch technique that provides distinctive yet easy pops of color. You will enjoy making this shawl as much as you will enjoy wearing it with everything! Appropriate for confident beginners.

HAT SEMINAR

Skill Level:Intermediate.(Must know how to knit in the round and use double point needles.)
Bump your knitting techniques up a notch. Make one two or three of the hats in this three week seminar.

OPEN SIDED SHAWL COLLARED PONCHO

Skill Level:Intermediate

This Open-Sided Poncho is a quick and fun knit. Heavy enough to keep the fall and winter chill from invading, but lightweight and easy to wear. We'll be flat-knitting, knitting in the round, three-needle binding off, and learning to pick up stitches for ribbing - EASILY. Your choice to make the Open-Sided Poncho or the Chunky Striped Open-Sided Poncho.


COLORADO FLAG HAT
Skill Level: Intermediate.
Next Start Date: In Progress.

You've seen it in the shop, now make one for yourself, and your entire family. We'll learn the provisional cast on to create a hemmed cuff, then work color striping and color changing to create this Colorado-proud ski cap. In the first class you will learn how to make a hem brim using a provisional cast on. In the second class you will learn to intarsia while decreasing.

Homework: Purchase materials and have yarn wound (if required) and check guage.




3 COLOR CASHMERE COWL

Next Class Starts: September 21, 2016.

Oh, this is a lovely little pattern to let the days go by while peacefully knitting away...Consider this a technique class. We will go over reading patterns, jogless stripes, changing colors, reading lace charts, carrying yarn, weaving in ends and more. Lux Adorna Ménage a Tois Kit is recommended for this class.


POLKA DOT BABY BLANKET
Note: This class has homework to be done before the first class.

GO-TO-CARDIGAN

Skill Level:Advanced Beginner
Next Start Date:In Progress.

This is a classic A-Line cardigan with side vents and shor-row shaping. Sweater is knit in a DK weight for a versatile garment. In this class we will use a variation of the long tail cast-on and German short rows.

BUFFALO DOUBLE-KNIT SCARF
OR
DOUBLE KNIT COWL

Skill Level: Intermediate. (Must be able to identify knit and purl stitches easily.)
Next Class Starts:October 3, 2016. 5 student Maximum.

Both of these reversible pieces are worked in double knitting - a great technique which creates two layer of fabric simultaneously. Explore this fascinating and unique knitting style and make a super-warm scarf or cowl.. We're using yummy Juniper Moon Tenzing yarn.





LEARNER'S PERMIT TO CROCHET
Skill Level: Novice

Learn to chain, single, double, half-double, triple, increase and decrease. We'll be making an adult or child's crocheted blanket from the
Noro Flowers Book 4 using the techniques learned.

LEARNER'S PERMIT TO KNIT
Skill Level: Novice
Next Class Starts: October 6, 2016.

In four weeks, Beginners turn into real knitters! Learn how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off and decrease when making your first hat in the round in week three. In week four you will complete your hat using double point needles.

BEYOND THE BASICS
Skill Level:Advanced Beginner/Intermediate.
Next Class Starts: October 8, 2016.

Got the basics down? Time to advance those knitting skills,. In this class you will learn a cable cowl, NAE scarf using seed stitch and learning to follow patterns, fixing mistakes and lots more!
