CLASSES

REGISTRATION
Register for classes by coming into the shop or calling 303-322-2223. Take a minute to read and understand the Class and Cancellation Policies below.

CLASS POLICY
As space is limited, full payment is required at registration to hold your spot. All materials must be purchased prior to the beginning of class, unless otherwise noted. All materials needed must be purchased from LambShoppe with the exception of hardware you already own such as needles, hooks etc. Please note skill level required and if there is any homework for your class. As a courtesy to the other students we ask that you arrive for class on time. There will be no admittance beyond 10 minutes past the start time.We know that occasionally unforeseen events will prevent you from being able to attend all of the scheduled classes. In that event any make-up time must be arranged with your instructor and there may be an additional fee required.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Class and workshop fees are transferable up to one week before the start of class. We cannot refund or transfer after that. Instructors reserve the right to cancel with less than their minimum student sign-ups. In the event of cancelation the student has the option of transferring to a differents class or receiving a refund.

PRIVATE HELP APPOINTMENTS

KNITTING SKILL LEVELS
Novice:
Knows how to spell knit, purl and crochet.

Beginner:
Knit- Knows how to cast on and bind off, knit and purl, increase and decrease.
Crochet - Knows how to chain, single, double and triple crochet.

Intermediate:
Knows a variety of stitches, how to use double points, knit in the round, and knows mid-level shaping.

Advanced:
Knows lace stitches and intricate stitch patterns, fair isle, and how to short row.

TOE-UP SOCKS, TWO AT A TIME.
Skill Level:
Advanced
Next Start Date: September 27.

Ever wanted to knit socks, but didn't know how to start or were intimidated by the heels and toes? Or didn't know how long you could make the socks with the yarn you had?

This class will answer all your questions about knitting socks from the toes up, AND teach you how to knit both socks at the same time (Optional). (This avoids the DREADED Second Sock Syndrome!!)

This class will entail 3-90 minute sessions where you will master Judy's Magic Cast On for toes, the short row heel, and the increase toe. We will also learn a stretchy bind off.

These techniques will be taught using the Magic Loop (1 circular needle) or on two circular needles. These techniques can be adapted to any foot.


LACE-BACK FINGERLESS GLOVES
Skill Level: Intermediate.
Next Start Date: September 10.

Join us and learn lace (from a chart or written) and add beads as you go. Get an early start on those holiday gifts.

BARTON PARK SHAWL
Skill Level:
Intermediate
Next Start Date:September 13.

This lovely lace shawl was inspired by the Jane Austen novel, Sense and Sensibility. Come into the shop and see the model created from an Austrailian unbrushed mohair yarn. (Or perhaps more importantly feel it.) This is an intermediate pattern with resting rows between pattern rows and a beaded edge. The pattern is available for purchase on-line at PatternFish or at LambShoppe.


MODERN GRANNY SQUARE AFGHAN

Next Start Date: August 5.


) If you know how to do a chain and a single crochet your ready for this fun and portable project. Making mini squares allows you to design a blanket of any size, and use as many or as few colors as you choose. Learn the zipper method to put it together for a beautiful seam.


CROCHET FLOWERS

Next Start Date: July 25.


Come in and learn how to create a simple crochet flower. In this class you will make two flowers in what ever yarn you choose. They can be used as adornment on clothing and home goods or make a bouquet that will never die. Whatever you decide to use them for they are a quick and easy project.


KNIT FLOWERS

Next Start Date: July 26.


Let us teach you how to make some of these lovely flowers to decorate you home or clothing. In this class you will learn 2 flowers made in what ever yarn and colors you like. A fun and simple class. Hope to see you there.

MOSAIC KNITTED BABY BLANKET
Skill Level: Beginner.
Next Start Date: August 8.

Looks hard but isn't. Learn how to use slip stitches to give your blanket an expert look while only using one color at a time. No color work involved. Great for all levels of knitters. Choose size of blanket and two colors of DK or Worsted yarn and away we go.




ARANAMI SHAWL

Next Start Date: August 1.


One of the best and most creative shawls produced today. Can be made in fingering to worsted weight yarns. Pick your own color palette from neutrals to brights. End up with a show stopping piece. You'll want to make this one over and over once you learn many new techniques.

MAYPOLE VEST
Skill Level: Beginner.
Next Start Date: July 30.

Learn how to make this adorable vest. Sizes from 1 year old to 7 year old. Great colors to choose from. Never made a vest or sweater? This is a great way to learn many sweater techniques including, arm holes, button bands, collars and much more, while working on a small project.




MITER BABY BLANKET

Next Start Date: July 28.


Learn this useful technique to make a great baby blanket. The whole blanket is knit in garter, so it's a great project for advanced beginners as well as fun for the experienced knitter. You will be amazed at what you can produce picking up stitches and using increases and decreases. We can design your own blanket, or pick one from designs we have already made.

ROWAN SIOUX CROCHET ALONG
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner.
Next Start Date: July 18.

Get ready to make this poncho from Rowan Magazine "Summer Textures". This garment is designed with a fabulous basket weave crochet pattern. (It's not just for knitters anymore!) This pattern is easily adaptable to use as a baby blanket or afghan as well.

SOMERSAULTING RIM TRI-FOLD BOWL
Skill Level: Intermediate.
Next Start Date: August 6.

The rim of this bowl somersaults around in a never-ending Mobius path. The bottom of the bowl is picked up around its edge and knit down with contrasting stripes.

OUTLANDER COWL/SNOOD
Skill Level: Beginner
Next Start Date: In Progress

A double-moss stitch beauty made with Debbie Bliss Paloma. Soft and yummy. Second week of the class we will complete the Snood with mattress stitch or, if your feeling adventurous, you can learn the moss stitch Kitchener finish.

LACE PONCHO
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate.
Next Start Date: In Progress.

This poncho is made with DK or sportweight yarn and the shaping is accomplished by increasing the needle size as you work down. Learn lace stitches with out having to incorporate increases into the pattern. A great firstime lace project.

ELEPHANT
Skill Level: Intermediate.
Next Start Date: In Progress.

The size of this elephant depends on what yarn or combination of yarns you choose. The pattern will be provided for this class.


RUSTIC CHRISTMAS STOCKING

Skill Level:Advanced Beginner

Fair Isle Scandinavian Stocking! Start NOW so that you won't be weaving in the final strands of yarn on December 24! You will learn a traditional two-handed knitting technique which makes you fair Isle zip along and also secures your floats. We'll design our stocking, choose our motifs and colors, and learn the Fair Isle technique in the first class, AND get started. So many projects use Fair Isle - a wonderful skill to learn. Kick you knit up to the next level! Fun, fun, fun! Come see the sample in the Shoppe.

LEARNER'S PERMIT TO CROCHET
Skill Level: Novice

Learn to chain, single, double, half-double, triple, increase and decrease. We'll be making an adult or child's crocheted blanket from the
Noro Flowers Book 4 using the techniques learned.

LEARNER'S PERMIT TO KNIT
Skill Level: Novice
New classes beginning: In Progress.

In four weeks, Beginners turn into real knitters! Learn how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off and decrease when making your first hat in the round in week three. In week four you will complete your hat using double point needles.
