Illusion Knitting Baby Blanket
At our house we are celebrating the arrival of a new granddaughter! Brigette Anne came one week ago and we are all head over heals. It is time to knit a baby blanket! Illusion knitting uses two contrasting colors and is very easy to do, if you can knit stripes you can knit this. Steve Plummer has created several patterns to choose from puppies, dinosaurs, rabbits, elephants, and castles. Pick your favorite, its ok if we all are doing a different image. I will be doing the Unicorn. When you look straight at illusion knitting you only see narrow stripes. The unicorn comes when you look from a distance- like magic.

This class will introduce illusion knitting, two color knitting and chart reading.
Requirements:
You will need the pattern ( Illusion baby blanket by Steve Plummer )
YARN: (I am using Ella Rae Cozy alpaca.)
660 yard of light colored DK weight yarn
660 years of dark colored DK weight yarn
This will make a blanket approximately 32'' X 40''
Any yarn can be used. A thinner yarn will make a smaller blanket and a thicker yarn will make a larger blanket.
Needles: The illusion effect works best if knitted more tightly than usual, try using one size down from what the ball band recommends. They recommend a US 3 for a DK weight yarn. I have not swatched mine yet.
