Knitted Pumpkins
You can knit up a pumpkin in any yarn you like! Join Mary Carol for the easy knitting (knit 9, purl 1) of a tube. And then the fun begins! Mary Carol will guide you through pumpkin construction with your long tapestry needle. And she'll even bring some twigs in for the pumpkin stem. :^)
FYI - The pattern designer used 186 yards of fingering weight yarn and US 1.5 needles) to make a pumpkin 3.25" wide by 2" tall. If you would like a bigger pumpkin, get yourself some heavier yarn!
Supplies:
YARN - 50 grams of your choice of yarn
NEEDLES - Double-pointed Needles one size smaller than the smallest size recommended on the yarn label
PATTERN - Pumpkin Number One by Ewelina Wojsz. Find it here!
EXTRAS - Long tapestry needle, 1 stitch marker, polyester stuffing, 1-15mm/0.5 inch button, scissors
HOMEWORK:
Please get your yarn and pattern and cast-on 60 stitches. Join your stitches in the round and knit at least 23 rows in the knit 9, purl 1 pattern. We're hoping that you'll have at least half of your pumpkin knitted BEFORE class begins.
