THE KIT We are reviving a poncho kit from early 2020s called 14 Carat. Kits include 8 skeins of HiKoo CoBaSi (enough to make both sizes in the pattern) and a printed pattern, all in an organza bag. Just add needles and get stitching! (US 7 recommended & same size hook for crochet cast-on)
THE PATTERN The 14 Carat poncho was designed by Michelle Hunter with HiKoo'a CoBaSi as a collaboration with HiKoo. The fabric in has an interesting design with superior drape. Best of all, the simple construction makes it a garment that is flattering on EVERYONE! Knitters of all shapes and sizes modeled the poncho and were thrilled with the flattering silhouette. Most ponchos are available in the dreaded “one size fits all”, but this poncho have two sizes to please everyone (small/medium and large/xl). Whether you are new to garments or an experienced veteran, 14 Carat will bring you new skills as well as a stylish garment. No previous garment experience is necessary - it’s the perfect first step to wearable knitting! 23 stitches and 31 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch, unblocked on US 7
THE YARN 14 Carat is knit with CoBaS by HiKoo, a fingering-weight yarn that is a cotton (55%), bamboo (16%), silk (8%), and elastic/nylon (21%) blend. CoBaSi knits into a lightweight top appropriate for chilly spring evenings or air conditioned restaurants in the summer. More colors available below! 50g/220yards; Machine wash, tumble dry
