Sending Love Fingerless Gloves
THE KIT
Sending Love Fingerless Gloves was born from a partnership between Whitney, the pattern designer, and Ali, the yarn dyer. For this round, we are re-making kits with the Road Trip Sock Yarn DK that was dyed especially for LambShoppe for our most recent Yarn Crawl. Kits include one skein of yarn and a printed pattern. Just add needles!
THE PATTERN
The Sending Love Fingerless Gloves pattern takes inspiration from the informal moto of the United States Postal Service. “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds” -Herodotus History
This is a great single skein project that is fun and gift-able. It features a cable design on the back, stockinette stitch on the palm and a gusseted thumb. Pattern is written in 2 sizes (photographed in size S/M). The design comes from the idea of how people show affection while apart. If you take a closer look at the cables, they're made of X’s and O’s. Its like knitting in little hugs and kisses.
THE YARN
Ali, of Road Trip Sock Yarn, hand dyed this DK Superwash Merino just for us at LambShoppe in her Denver studio! We've made kits with all the solid colors she brought us, which are perfect for showing off Whitney's x's and o's cable pattern. The Tweed base is a new one for Ali and it's very cool! Plus, who can deny that Palisade Peach-colored mitts would brighten up a winter day?
