THE KIT
We love the Sophie Scarf and we found a way to lighten it up for summer with a lighter weight yarn and a slight change in needle size! Our kits include 2 skeins of yarn, a printed pattern, and notes about our modifications, all in an organza bag! Just add needles and you'll be on your way!
THE PATTERN
From the yarn company, Laines du Nord, the Small Scarf pattern included in this kit is a larger version of the Sophie Scarf published by PetiteKnit. This Small Scarf is slightly wider and longer than the famous pattern, but it is the exact same garter stitch scarf with i-cord edges. See below for our pattern modifications:
The Small Scarf pattern (included) is written for a DK yarn and US 7 needle, and makes a scarf 7.5" wide and 52" long, but we are suggesting that you use a smaller needle with the lighter Baby Soft Yarn. Our LambShoppe kit sample was made on a US 5 needle and makes a scarf 6" wide by 47.5" long. (Original Sophie: US 4 needle and 5" wide x 40" long)
THE YARN
An organic cotton and soybean fiber blend with an extremely soft hand, Baby Soft is very pleasant in contact with the skin. This yarn creates a light and structured fabric, perfect for spring and summer garments, and baby projects.
